After my drone crash landing, I just put it away. I wanted to inspect my work this week, so I got the drone out and found in preflight that one prop was cracked half through, but that seemed to be the only visible issue. An extra set came with the drone, and this is the first time I damaged it.  Anyhow, I got it flying, but it was really windy. I got enough footage to put a short video together.  The new expansion is around 75ft long, snd the deepest spot is 9' I suspect when it does fill it, it will be less than 8 as the loose clay debris settles.

Like the scenic flyover!

Reminds me of the last "day job" I had years ago, hauling crushed rock and excavated dirt for highway contract road construction. One of the gravel pit companies would fly a drone over the stockpile, and it had a measuring program built in that could calculated within a couple % the total cubic yards on the ground. Same program could be used to measure volume of a dug out area.

I made a short video yesterday, but it ended up on facebook as it would not upload to youtube.  I started the process of joining the new section of pond.  Ive not been down there today, but via the camera I see a little patch of blue water that looks like it would have to be about 5' deep.

I use black pond dye, which actually must be dark dark blue, because as it filters backwards into the pond through the small amount of top soil, it is blue.

Tammy is standing at pond water level. The water was trickling around her feet. It is getting there.

So if I am following correctly, it completely filled with ground water rather than rain or runoff?

We had an inch and a half of rain and it back filled from the pond as it was lower than the overflow by an inch. Ground water, and we had the well running in it a few hours a day.
