During the past 21 years, I have sawn many, many cookies.  I may see a possibility and knock a few off.  "No charge, just give them to your wife and make her happy".  ffsmiley

I have a stack of probably 8-10 Walnut Cookies that I loan out.  Nope they are not for sale.  So far they have all been returned.

Started milling some long butts off a small logging job. Forgot how big these were. Thinking that one would crush my pour little 130max lol.

So, the axe guy came about 4 and was happy with the boards.  said he needs them about every few months and will try to give me a heads up.  The guy across the street from him is Pippen, and he owns the Sand Hills Brewery, and he came with his dad to mill ERC.  They also brought a few walnuts.  The plan was to bring about 8 to 10 log, but there was well over a dozen.  They were affected by the fire we had a few years ago and these cedars have been limbed by the fire and standing dead.  Nice and dry so the saw dust was fine, but the blade cut well.  So, I was worried it was dull but cut relatively fast and straight. It was a mix of long straight solid 15 foot long and 12 inches small end ERC and they made great full dimension 6 x 6s.

They even took the waste to cut to 4 foot and use in a large stove.  some nice stuff and some were more challenging with curve and voids.  more like the ERC we see more often.

I used to cut poplar 2x10x48 for axe targets.

To avoid handling heavy lumber, I cut the 48" length with a skill saw right on the mill.  I tried using a compound miter saw.  Handling 2x10x12' was heavy work, handling a 4' piece was much easier and less time consuming.  They were stacked on a pallet right off the mill.

Using the skill saw on a stack of 2x10 on the mill, I set the saw blade deep enough to score the next board in the stack. I only had to measure the top board and cut it square on the ends.   The next board down had score marks to follow.  The last board got raised on the roller toe boards.

My customer switched to end grain targets so they last longer.   We calculated that he can purchase enough 4x4 material from the box store for less than he can buy poplar from me.

Just a nice flat sawn piece of White Oak. Long story, the log laid way too long. It will be board and batten at the cabin.

I guess I need to start looking for a replacement engine for my mill.  The Yanmar service shop thought it was wiring and replaced a  connector with no help.  The shop now wants to talk to Woodmizer tech support.

Thank you, I was surprised how much was clear. Best Burr Oak I have sawn.

Cut a big Ash into slabs for a friends counter top project. Have not been milling, the electric fuel pump on the Kohler was acting up and I had to replace it.It did flash out a code, there are some utube vids on them. You can buy a Chinese knockoff on Amazon for 75, I ordered the Kohler part online, 240.00, also made in China.  Only 240 hrs.

We have had some rain so I have been burning years of sawmill Slabwood the last few days.

My helpers need biscuits so I am going to have to sell some lumber soon.

Ouch on the fuel pump.  Also ouch on almost all of our replacement parts.  I believe that we are building our own corner to be pushed into.

As usual, November is stacking up to be busy sawing.  Happens every year when things cool off and the hay is all in the barn.  :uhoh:

I made a quote today that I hope I don't hear back from.  Two logs; a 24" X 7' and an 18" X 7' Red Oak, 65 miles away.  $580.

I kind of like those jobs. In and out in one day. Wham bam...
Change is hard....
Especially when a jar full of it falls off the top shelf and hits your head!

Local wind direction is determined by how I park my mill.

My first time milling the black gold!  I've had my mill for about 2 months, and all I have really done was oak, red cedar, and a little bit of black locust.  The stuff cuts really nice compared to how hard oak and locust are.

Lynn if the double question marks is for Tim, my guess is he is suggesting if you round up (raise price a bit) maybe you would get your wish (not get this job).  You are a premium sawyer as we all know.
