Hi all,

My 12 x 16 garden shed is well under way and I'm raising the three bent this weekend.
Question I have is the sills that I have put up on a stone foundation, I'm noticing water collecting in the stub mortices. When I finally get it raised and roofed, it could be another month.  Is there any risk to the long-term health of the project if it stays out in the weather? should I anchor seal the mortises?

If you get it dried in before cold weather, it should be fine.

The shed is getting there.  Here is a picture of it a few weeks ago. I'm planning to do some siding tomorrow and the four by eight rafters are getting cut now, should be in by the end of the month.

On the back side, how far off the ground is your sill?  Is there any concern of rain running off the roof splashing onto the sill and rotting it?  Or will you overhang the roof enough that it won't be a concern? I see the photo in Jack's book also has it pretty close to the ground. (I haven't built a timber frame yet. Just trying to learn.)

Btw, you frame is omcing together great. I might be suggesting this frame to my brother and sister in law and I'd build it for them.
