Green Timber Acquires Grossman Forestry Company
Green Timber Consulting Foresters Inc. and Grossman Forestry Company Inc. earlier this month announced their merger.
Justin Miller, president of Green Timber, and Gerald Grossman, president of Grossman Forestry, have signed a memorandum of understanding to combine their two companies via the sale of Grossman Forestry to Green Timber with an anticipated closing date of Jan. 1, 2025.
Grossman Forestry has been serving landowners in the eastern Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Peninsula since 1991, while Green Timber has been tending to forests of the western Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin since 2001. Together, the two companies will manage more than 550,000 acres in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, northern Wisconsin and Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula. The collective staff of 17 professional foresters has more than 200 years of experience in forest management, timber harvest administration, geographic information systems, forest inventory, forest modeling and analysis, and certification auditing.

Largest timber manufacturing plant in North America opens in Texas

Another day, and another manufacturing record is broken in Texas. This time in Corrigan, in the piney woods of deep east Texas in Polk County. Gov. Greg Abbott on Wednesday joined county and city leaders at the grand opening of Corrigan OSB, LLC's newly expanding timber manufacturing facility. Once the expansion is completed, it will be the largest facility of its kind in North America. READ MORE

New sawmill in Maine

Irving Forest Products, which owns and operates wood processing facilities in Maine and New York will acquire the Masardis Sawmill in Masardis, Maine. The mill is located in close proximity to Irving's 1.3 Million Acres of timberland in Maine.  READ MORE

Not sure whether it's good news are simply buying up the competition and shutting them down like they usually do. They already have a similar capacity saw mill in Ashland, Maine they moved from Deersdale, New Brunswick. It's only 10 miles between the two towns in Maine.
