Ravens aren't the most common bird on the coast of NC but they are there in spots.

During our volunteering at Cape Lookout/Portsmouth Village, we see a couple occasionally.

The maintenance crew has a landing craft they use to transport building supplies and vehicles to the island.

On one trip, one of the maintenance men and operator of the landing craft left his lunch in the little helm enclosure.  He left the door and windows open.

The two Ravens that were around that summer found his lunch.

When he got back to the LCM, I happened to be at the dock and heard him say, " *DanG ravens!  They got my lunch AGAIN."

It's one thing to happen once... ffcheesy

Every once in a while they would raid a private boat for bait, soft plastic lures and of course any food they could find.

The ravens ate sub sandwiches, flew away with bags of chips, tore open plastic bags with tackle and ate several pounds of shrimp.
