  I know exactly how you feel! I kept tearing up and choking up when I'd try to speak.

  I was fixing to start a similar thread on inaugurations. I was stationed at Quantico USMC base and we got the time off to go watch Jimmy Carter's inauguration parade and remember seeing Col. Sander on a  KFC float and the final group in the parade were the Peanut Brigade towing a big helium filled peanut balloon. They had chartered a train and come up for the ceremonies from Plains GA..

  I was working in Riyadh Saudi Arabia at their navy's logistic center when Clinton defeated GHW Bush and it struck me as odd when several of my Saudi, Filipino and Pakistani co-workers came up and asked me "Will President Bush actually step down and turn over the US government to Clinton?" In their countries, if they had an election (N/A for Saudis) if the opposition party got elected the president declared the election null and void and declared martial law and just stayed in office. I had never thought about it but it is normal for us to do an orderly turnover like we did today. It is a beautiful thing to see and my hopes are high right now.

When I saw the outstanding young people that join our military parade in, escort people or simply be present, I told my wife that we have nothing to worry about and that we will be safe.

I'm pretty happy to see Trump in office again, let's hope he gets a lot of the common sense stuff done.

I also hope that his campaign wasn't lip service to MAHA and that RFK Jr. gets to run off his leash occasionally. I'd love to see our food get a lot more healthy and our pharma's get a lot more studied to make sure they are more effective than they are weapons of population control or reasons to make you sick enough to need more pharmas...

The first round of Executive Orders seem like winners. And it was great to see the sourpuss Melania smile and look like she was having fun at the Liberty Ball.

47sawdust- I'm not trying to be a jerk or confrontational or anything just genuinely curious... Do you only watch the news or have you looked at the context of stuff that Trump has said and done? I'll grant you that he can be a trash talker but his actions usually point to him seeming like a pretty decent guy, especially compared to our warmongering past leaders or folks that influenced them. Also, I think the trash talking is funny and can make for excellent negotiations.

My answer to some folks who asked how I could vote for DJT was always " We are electing a President and Commander in Chief to run the Country and not a Pope". Personally I have great confidence that we can get this great country back to what we all know and love. Also it's like a weight has been lifted from our shoulders

Thank God we now have a President that loves America and every legal citizen.  My sister is depressed about Trump and I ask why but she has no legitimate answer.  I told her to stop watching CNN and clear her  mind of all the lies they were feeding  her.  She hung up and I feel sorry for her having caught TDS from watching TV without fact checking. Time to move forward and Make America Great Again leaving the Biden cancerous division in the rear view mirror.

While traveling today in your fine country a Store keeper told me he has 2 felony convictions from the early nineties and because of that can't work for the US government but a man with 34 conviction can be elected to the highest position in government

if you can't see NY fabricated those charges most likely your part of the issue. They finally officially convicted and sentenced him so now they can appeal but NY wants to wait on that until after his term has been served wanna guess why? Bidet issues preemtive pardons for his helpers not because they are guilty . but because trump could continue doing what the Bidet justice department has been doing which is weaponized against political opponents

I have never seen where anyone really explained why paying hush money is illegal, much less a felony.

I am not a big Trump fan, but I do believe he is a good pick.

I live in hope both the democrats and republicans stop being idiots and select better candidates for the good of the country.

That said I wish the best for this administration, I like the way this team has selected some very good people to help run things.

What bothers me a lot us how differently people in this country see the same things. To me, never a huge Trump fan, it was still obvious that the prosecutions against him were completely politically motivated and cobbled together. 

I like the phrase, "calling balls and strikes" that I heard a journalist use. Can you call balls and strikes against your team, and the other team? So many people can't, (that applies to both sides, IMO) but on the left it seems completely non existent.

Here's my version of balls and strikes for one aspect of those prosecutions- the prosecution was completely grasping at straws, trying to find a law broken that they could make fit the circumstances in the Stormy Daniels affair. On the flip side, nothing good will come of cheating on your wife with a porn star, and paying her to shut up. 

All of that said, Trump is a tough son of a gun IMO. I think he likes to tangle with people and fight.

To faithfully execute the laws of the United States...that means even if you don't like them, you still got to do it.  I certainly believe that 47 will do it way more than the past administration.

Right. There's rules of the game, so to speak, and they should apply equally to everyone if you want to have a nation of laws.

How can you have cities, for instance, that say that Federal immigration laws don't apply here? Didn't we have an issue where a bunch of southern states decided Federal laws didn't apply anymore once?

  The longer I watch and read and learn and remember the madder I get at the past 4 years and the doddering puppet and the folks pulling his strings. Apparently Joe signed executive orders stopping export of natural gas then when Mike Johnson challenged him on it Joe said he had not signed any such action.

    I guess I should have realized if we had DEI policies we had to have people enforcing them bit yesterday when DJT sent them home and told their bosses to have a RIF plan ready by tomorrow I realized we have been paying for these idiots.

  The crowning glory was last night when I saw Trump has now set in place the policy only the Stars and Stripes will be flown over our embassies and federal buildings. I don't remember hearing or remember reading that they were flying the Rainbow/Gay flag, Black Lives Matter Flag, Ukraine flag and others under it - AT OUR EMBASSIES! That is criminal in my mind. I guess the ambassador or other liberal in charge at the various outpost could pick and choose what other Anti-American propaganda to fly OVER OUR EMBASSIES. That has been stopped!

  How did we sink this low in 4 years?

    I am not a Trump fan but I like his policies and like the fact he is running full speed ahead doing exactly what he promised he was going to do.
