Totally agree   Sounds like yer on da right road. Gitten up and workin' it is the best thing you can do.  But I doubt there is much medical evidence that applying da cow fertilizer will speed up da healing, but it's worth a try. ffcheesy

Well ok, I woke up three times last night and slept till about 6:30 so that was an improvement. The pain is definitely better but still just tough to stay comfortable. PT is going well I guess I made 118° degrees of flex and so the PT aid got out her whip and put me on an exercise bike for 10 minutes and it actually wasn't too bad. I ran a bunch of errands this morning probably about 80 miles of driving it wasn't a problem. Saturday is the first Husker football game and I'm pondering trying it.  Got a local kid made Second team left tackle as a walk on redshirt freshman, his dad is a veterinarian that worked in our practice and now works in the veterinary research group my wife works with.  I just want to see Grant do it.  I guess my update is, I'm a fortunate rainbow farting unicorn so far and I'm blessed.  It's not perfect yet but it's a coming along.  ffsmiley

I've been reading this thread all along and procrastinating getting my knees done but it's getting too bad so yesterday I made tentative arraingements to get the left one done on Dec 26th this year. Will wait until afterwards to think about the right knee. He could have gotten me in sooner but I want to wait till after hunting season. i was given a choice between Dec 23rd or 26th so I thought I'd get to go to some Christmas gatherings first, I guess no wild New Years partys.

Good get it done, I'm back working full time. I preg checked 130 heifers this morning and got along fine. Yes still a little sore but that takes time for the bones to finish healing. I ve been doing most of the stuff I routinely did before. My range of motion was about 130 degrees last check when they kicked me out of pt. So I will call it a win.

2 weeks till knife day, I've started doing a series of pre surgical exercises that feel like no big deal for the first few reps but by number 10 I can feel it.

On my second replacement I found that riding a bike before and after the surgery helped a lot.[not the Harley]

@gspren  good luck, do the exercises faithfully. I am much better than before the surgery. I still have some residual swelling and some soreness but it's much better than the wore out original equipment. Be aggressive with your pt the pain gets better with time.

gspren

Ok, it's been two days now and the pain has gotten steadily worse and they said it would. Had pt today and the tech said I'm doing about as expected. Have pt 3 times next week and will try to follow instructions. Like they say getting old ain't for sissies.

I'm on day 18 now and the PT guy tells me that I'm doing good so I'm happy. They okayed me to drive last week and over this past weekend I got on my little Kubota and did some snow blowing and scraping, I had to use a step stool to get on it but was then good to go.

I'm still doing good and now tomorrow I bring my wife home from getting her knee replacement done yesterday, go from her helping me to me helping her. I'll be happy if she does as well as I did.

Well, darn.....

Had an MRI today on my right knee.  Was hoping just a torn meniscus but turned out to be more involved.

Quote1. Near full-thickness tear of the anterior cruciate ligament from its femoral attachment. Only a few thin fibers remain intact. 2. Radial tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus. The medial meniscus is extruded. 3. Moderate joint effusion. Small Baker's cyst. 4. Full-thickness and partial-thickness cartilage loss in the medial and patellofemoral compartments. Small partial-thickness cartilage defects in the lateral compartment

Over the course of the next several days my wife (Veterinarian) and I will be researching treatment options. MRI Dr estimated 6-9 month recovery post surgery.
