Semi Pseudo Retirement

Well, a few of us are moving on and so med. staff through us a party at Dr. Lairmore's winery.  He is a retired ortho doc and has the cnc I have shown here.  This is his winery, and he has a big telescope and does astro photography.  Dr. Slomka in originally from Poland and has just finished 25 years.  Dr. Degner is a pathologist and has worked here for 25 years.  So over 100 years of service in this pic.  This was for Amy and me, but lots of folks moving to the next stages.



folks here were mostly leadership.





The redheaded guy seated on the left, is Jeremy, and has been my lead scribe and just got accepted to medical school in Colorado.  He is prob. my 7th scribe that I wrote letters for that have gotten into med. school over the years.  I think all the girls on the right have had more wine, or at least know I was about to take a pic.

Was just talking to a friend of mine today who is retiring from the IT field after many years. Make the most of your time and enjoy being able to do what you want to, not what you have to do.

More time for hobbies and travel.  will still work as few or many hours as I want and get full benefits.  they agreed after all my overtime shifts to take an average of 7 shifts a month to count as full time.  will see if it is a new medical assignment or go all in on working around the house.  I am part of search and rescue, and docs who care want me to work for them.  considering teaching at one of the medical schools.  Many things get left undone when you are working too much.  thanks.

If I know you, we will soon be hearing that you signed up help on an Everest Expedition, or will sail the world, or solve some other of the world's problems.  Retirement is just a way to allow you to do more great things, I mean how many people's lives have you saved in your career and how many more can you still help?  So I expect you will not have your butt glued to the retirement recliner, but you will be full speed ahead, just in another direction.  GOOD FOR YOU!

Retirement was the one of the best things that can happened to a person, and I know you will have a ball with it.
