I picked this up this morning. It ran two years ago and cranks over now but very weak spark. I know it ran because it was my job to keep it running for the previous owner.
Could not get it to fire yesterday.
I am going to switch it over to 12 volts. Any suggestions/ help would be appreciated.
Starter and solenoid have already been changed.
I need to change;
Coil
voltage regulator
Any light bulbs ( instrument panel?)
Battery ( obviously)
I think I need a resistor for the points to drop the voltage back to 6?
All my years of wrenching on car and equipment this is my only 6 volt system!

Toss the old generator and regulator and install a 12v alternator with a built in regulator.

Add ignition wires to the replace list.   My IH McCormick Farmall 140 had problems firing after replacing points, condenser, rotor button and distributor cap.  It needed new wires.  Turned out to be a problem two different times.

The 140 tractor is a C123 but those IH engines are similar.

And make sure the points gap is right.
