One thing I forgot to mention that many others had posted on was insurance.
I'm very fortunate that Jill has a good job working for Marathon Petroleum and plans on doing so for another 8 years or so which means we have good health insurance. When I left Ball they mentioned insurance after I leave and gave me a rough cost.  think_not

I'm blessed to have my bride and my health back.

Brent,

Thanks for the update. I know a great overnight stop right off I-77 (Actually nearly equal distance - about 10-15 miles fromeither - between where I-77 and I-64 split/run together in southern WV. I'm always looking for a good excuse to fry up a mess of catfish fillets.

BTW did I tell you my big old hay burner is half Belgian?

Get busy with that map program.

Danny,

Awful tempting. We will see what the future brings. What is the date again? I already warned you about the hushpuppies. I am sure grits should be good supply there.

Don't believe that a firm date has been established.  Likely it will be mid-April.

Don't let David see that picture again. He's liable to have my hide for eating all that Blueberry waffle cone ice cream at the world renowned pig roast.

And I guess I better let ya in on a little secret. I've never ate catfish. Shhh!! But I love hush puppies and grits ain't no big thang for this northern boy.

Here's my retirement update. I retired from the US military in September 2012 after 26 years. Took one year to get the cabin up in the mountains built (still a work in progress), did logging and tree removal work in the Tidewater area for about 2.5 years until the fall of 2015.
Started as an OTR 18 wheeler driver in November of 2015, and still going ever since. All the lower 48 states and 6 provinces so far. I currently drive for CFI out of Joplin, MO.
I added up my miles yesterday, and went over 500K paid miles in a little over four years.
No plans to stop anytime soon.

I was just thinking about retirement and made a FF search for retired topics.  There was well over 20 topics on this very controversial subject.  Retirement has many different definitions by different people.   smiley_headscratch

Some intentionally retire, some of us were forced to retire, and then there are those that may never retire.  Soon I will have been retired for as long as I "worked for the man".  I always knew that I could never sit still on a turd and dry up.  I have to have activity.

We have never missed a meal and my best retirement decision was buying the sawmill.  My best sawmill business profile decision was providing only a portable sawing service with no selling.  It provides extra income without any investment nor inventory.  This profile allows for time off for other activities such as nothing.   ffsmiley

You Sir, are a bad man.   ffsmiley

Actually central Mississippi.  Thankfully no bad weather, just pop-up showers mainly in the afternoon.

Marty is at the farm with one of his excavators removing volunteer trees from the pond levee.  He wanted me to go with him but yesterday I was hanging wallpaper for a Great-grandaughter and today is an early Father's day with a Daughter.  I am practicing retired.
