RPF we will have to agree to disagree.  the government needed a hard about face, and a sledgehammer not a scalpel.  the rush on the vaccine was before we knew if half the population might die or be injured by covid.  Turns out the vaccine also is so much like covid, you can get some of the same autoimmune illness like cardiomyopathy.  the pandemic is over and now is the time to rethink things.  none of the bleach or ivermectin.  My daughter has Aspergers, and I am an avid vaccine enthusiast.  I hope to find connections we can use to reduce the incidence.  The measles outbreak is mostly due to non-vaccinated folks.  Often brought in from abroad as the heard immunity here usually keeps it at bay.  We may disagree on everything, and we could still be friends.

why were we buying from the middle east and not producing here?  virtue signaling from the left.  they want people to just walk in, but how many dems invited male illegal alien immigrants to stay in their homes, or city for that matter.  I guess the wine is a little sour in Marthas Vineyard.

This topic demostrates the divisness that the rich and the politicians want in the american people for there own gain. were all people qho would get along great as niegbors im sure.

I have used this forum for many years to gain knowledge and advice on forestry and logging stuff. Ive always appreciated that there was no politics or cursing allowed Jusy straight up dialoge of imformation. Im not sure if im included in the leftists want to take the forum down comment but I assure you jeff I am a red blooded american patriot with roots so far down in new england they predate this country. I feel rediculos even feeling the  need to say that. However to speak more clearly on the subject I did vote for him and he has made my life much harder as a farmer and logger unfortunatly. Maybe and hopefully things will work out in the end since it is still all fresh. For example my local nrcs office got defunded and the soil conservation plan they were doing for me has been stalled indefintily. I need that finished to prove to the town that work I want to do in some of our pastures is ok. I didnt write the rules but I do need to follow them.
On the logging side I had 15kft of veneer this spring sorted to go to my export guy and that had to go to canada because of the tarrif wars that happened. So it still went out of the country theres no local option but I took a 50% hit on those logs. Like it or not we currently have  a global log market so losing those venues was a huge hit on small operations like me. I would love to see more local mills active and be able to sell everything I cut within a hundred miles but thats simply not the case right now. Its already hard enough to make a living doing this stuff to begin with. Those are just 2 examples theres many more its been a hectic spring/early summer way more then it needs to be.

I see and agree with where hes going with all this but in the process it sure is making it harder to operate. Fuel has also gone up signifigantly in my area since the election which wasnt the case his first time around and business was great then and I was hoping for that again.

I have a hard time with responding to many of these posts because I agree with some and disagree with some and don't have a position on many.

IMHO

If you get upset by a post walk away from the computer, go hug a tree or cut it down.

We are all neighbors and I try to treat my neighbors right so they treat me right. Having said that don't treat me wrong, I don't forget.

Politics and religion can be sensitive topics. many people need to lighten up about both.

I don't think there are many that don't agree the amount of government waste os criminal and something need to be done.
We finally get someone who starts doing something and is put down every step of the way.
I also don't think that "it is a national mandate" we should allow everything to proceed without question.
Even if Trump "isn't a politician he is surrounded by politicians.

RPF
" And politics.  I did not get to have a voice in who I would like to be a candidate and I am really mad about that. "

Which party did not give the voters a choice in candidates, which candidate did not get a single vote in the primarys?
Which party is antidemocracy?

I enjoy a good discussion about things, relax and discuss.

Just a little perspective here, I'm sorry for the folks that got pinched short term in the tariff crunch. I hope it ends up to give use some sort of tax relief maybe they could shore up social security as more retire and less are working to float the program. Tariffs used to fund our government.
My life is tied very deeply to agriculture specifically livestock and grain farming. No timber, not many trees here.  Mostly things are positive here in the country.
I like many voted for the lesser of two evils in a way. For some reason never to be known to us in this life he was spared by less than the width of my index finger tapping in my message.  I cannot and should not sit and judge because I am flawed myself,  if he can bring lasting peace and relative economic prosperity......boy that would be something wouldn't it??Godspeed everyone.  ffsmiley

RPF I will address your question about the hurricane in my area. There is/was assistance available from both state and fed. I qualified for a sizeable chunk but don't feel like I deserve/need it. There is more available to me from the state than the feds. Thankfully GA. has a surplus in their pot to pull from.  I think it is best left for the ones that really need it. Of course I have my doubts about them being the ones that will actually get it. Most will probably be wasted and abused. Many that don't need it, will get in line with their hand out anyway.
Lots of it has been cleaned up in my area. Plenty still needs cleaned up. The stuff that is left will be of little use, as it has been on the ground so long. Some can still be salvaged though, as some still have the root ball attached, and is green again this spring.
I admire the way you didn't take offense and came back in here with a smile and open mind. Would enjoy sitting around a fire, with a cup of coffee, and talking with you Sir.

My opinion is that going in Trump knew and knows that he can never serve as President again so he is not holding back on anything.  He only has 4 years to squeeze the juice out of his term and do the most for this USA so he is "DanG the guns" full speed ahead.

He has a lot to clean up! My wife and I were channel surfing and landed on C-Span yesterday where the Supreme Court was holding a hearing. The case - Whether parents could opt their elementary school children out of classes taught using LBGTQ themed test books.

    Elementary school!!!

The decision was 6:3 that they could. Keep mind the liberal third of the court were saying parents in public schools were saying it was fine to teach elementary school kids using LBGTQ themed text books. I guess they figure you've got to start working on their minds at a very young age if you want to gain control of them before they can think on their own.

Keep in mind 3 of those justices were appointed by DJT. If Biden or Obama had been able to squeeze a couple more in you would not have been able to protect your kids from these kinds of idea.

The recent auto penned supreme court appointment should be called back.

Christopher Wray was criminally referred to DOJ Thursday over lying about the 2020 election.  Mostly crickets in media except for an article in the Western Journal.   No one is above the law right?
