I have a question for you and food for thought, which with out, we all starve and die.

When is the last time YOU started a new topic? Ever?
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

I can remember posting 3000 mile or 6000 mile oil change . . it was in 2012 and I wasn't really sure if it was a good topic for The Forestry Forum
But it is a very popular posting as everyone has their own ideas about when to change their oil

My last one was surf fishing. Now I just live vicariously through Ted, YH, and Caveman. Our spring trip was by plane so I didn't bother packing my stuff. Back at it in August. The older I get, the more I know and less I break so havent had any questions in awhile. If I can help someone I will but not many small scale circle guys running the geriatric equipment I deal with anymore.
Saw you tomorrow!

That is an age-old question that will ever get an honest answer.   ffcheesy

We had a period of time here where every large fish got caught in Hodskins Pond.  Well Mr. Hodskins never had a pond, but it was a common joke.  Mr  Hodskins grew weary of answering the phone calls from folks asking for fishing permission so he went to the newspaper and had them run an article describing his dilemma and asking that folks no longer fish "his" pond.  Thereafter the newspaper also refrained from publishing articles stating that anything was caught in Hodskins Pond.

I thought we were going surf fishing. I'm gearing up for new grounds on the Texas gulf coast for the winter Pompano run later this year as I had to cancel Alaska this fall due to work load. Something different with miles of beaches to drive and camp on. My Pomp gear is arriving tomorrow so that I may practice with the type of gear that is best for the Gulf. Pretty excited and I'll be ready for it after this last year!

The last time I started a thread was June 1. in the travel section, UP Michigan.

I haven't been and don't plan on running the mill for a while, and really need to finish up a couple inside projects while its hotter than I like outside.

I'm thinking of another project on my camper, every time I use it I come home and modify it some

May 23, about peeing outside. ffcheesy I like pictures so most of my posts go into the catch-all threads: what you sawing, what you cutting, firewood picture thread.

I would like to see more topics started as most are very interesting. I should try to do more but it takes time.

That there in lays the problem. The catch all topics. Almost everyone I personally talk to about those agree.  Over and over I hear "I don't even look at those"

I look at individual members posts on occasion and see many post in those and rarely anywhere else. Those topics get a following that come look there, then leave. There is some amazoning content in many of those topics that many never see as lots of members for one reason or another, think same ols same old and don't look in. It deoes not take that much more effort to hit the new topic button, add a relevant title and make a new conversation that more people participate in.

Ive been doing this a long time and have a lot of insight through a quarter century of experience. I recognize monotony when I see it. New topics interest more people,

Jeff, My suggestion would be to lock all of the catch-all such topics, especially the long ones, and lets see where it goes. ??

Weather, Whatcha, cutting, update, dumb, making it through, etc.

Biiby's "useful mods" topic could be left and made a "sticky".

I'm just trying to think.   smiley_headscratch smiley_idea

The weather one I like because I use it like a record.
I can go back on each year and see what the weather was like on that date.
