Billy and I spent the week sawing big white pine logs for a local customer.  A log truck load of them. All 38" and 10' long. My new TYM T474H wouldn't lift them. We pulled them to the log deck and rolled them on the mill with the T474H.
They made lots of 5/4 lumber.

Probably logs of big pine down that way. Always was when I was down to uncle's camp on the lake, mixed in with white and red oaks. No stain in it? Logs don't look real fresh.

W. pine stains here fast. If cut in winter and left until June they will get blue stain all through it from ambrosia beetle galleries.

Surprising the big logs have hardly any stain or bug damage
They have been down for over 2 years.
Hard to saw as they are so dry. Stellite tooth bands , the big knots are tough .
The lumber came out nice for the circumstances.

I had a lot of big EWP.
36 inches was no big deal.
There was a lot over 4 feet.
I still have some big ones but not many over 36 inches.
My Father and me cut a lot of them down.

They seem to be debarked. Maybe the bark fell off after 2 years.

Do you like your TYM hydrostat tractor?

Nice -some big boys there. No blue mold in the sapwood after 2 years down? Must be some pine weevil bore holes, no?

I have the same tractor, like it! About 28-30" 10'-12' long is my lifting limit on yellow pine. I normally use the grapple for lifting and positioning on the mill but on larger logs I put the forks on to add a few hundred lift pounds. Sometimes have to put the bushog on the back as a real heavy load will lift rear tires off the ground. I run a manual mill so if the 474 won't lift it I probably don't need to try to mill it.  Had a big pecan come down last year, had to slide the log up the loading ramp with the forks. Took me quite a while to position the log on the mill so the guides would clear. Pretty much maxed out cutting width on the EZ40.

The logs have very little if any blue stain. One log had 2 bug holes in the sapwood.
The TYM has a mechanical diesel pump and old school type injection system.  No computer to run it. TYM 's don't have alot of fancy stuff to go wrong , that's why I chose it. I hope to add a bigger TYM or an 4x4 fork lift next year .
