It's 6:15 pm on Dec. 27th and the Santa Smiley's have disappeared.  I guess Christmas is over :-/

We don't have to quit talking about it do we? :-/ :)

Jeff

Nope, if you miss them I can put them back. ;D

Are we going to have cupid smileys for February? :D
blue by day, orange by night and green in between

ElectricAl

It seems we are being weaned off the Santa smilies gently. :)  Good thing, there seems to be several members having withdrawl symptoms.  Especially good for those members who have multiple personalities.  Never know when one might have a breakdown! :o

You better  today Tom?
Linda and I custom saw NHLA Grade Lumber, do retail sales, and provide Kiln Services full time.

Tom

Don't know what it is Al. December rolls around, my eyes cross, my beard grows, my belly shakes, my nose turns red, I wake up in the morning with this funny little hat on and boots smell like deer dung.   Can't remember a thing.

I gotta get a handle on this one year. :P :-/ ???

Linda

Tom,

I must confess, instead of having multiple personalities, I have been impersonating others! :-[

It wasn't intentional, but somehow since ElectricAl and I share the same computer, my post above #6, turned out to be his.  I thought I had logged him off, but I guess I didn't do a good enough job. :-/

We have been trouble makers for Jeff with this one computer thing.  I'm using it as leverage for Al to let go of enough cash to get his and hers computers.  But then we'll have to have a really big desk, too! Or we will be extremely cozy :-*

I wonder if any one else causes this kind of trouble for Jeff?  :o Good thing Jeff is a good sport! ;D

By the way, did you notice we have more santa smilies again?  They must miss you as much as you miss them! ;)

Linda :)

Linda if you have Santa Smilies they are being Re-gifted to you by your AOL browser from your temp internet files. All the Forum Santa Smilies are back at the North Pole.

I might have a solution for your 2 to 1 computer dilemma. I am not sure, but I think AOL and Internet explorer may use different cookies. If one of you opens and logs in with IE you can find out. I know Netscape works that way, but I am real hesitant about recommending that. Some versions of Netscape just don't open up the forum well. There are folks out there that don't come here because they use Netscape and won't change for anything. They think there is something wrong with this website.

Hey Linda,
Since you and ElectricAl have a woodmizer
you'll have to saw some lumber to make a bigger
computer desk.   ;D  Of course it might
be that cobbler's kids never have any shoes kinda thing
though.   :D
Keep bugging Al and he will part company with
some sawbucks to get you a new computer.  ;)

So Jeff,

What you're saying is: I'm seeing things that other people aren't!?  :o   I suppose that might explain the voices in my head, too. ???  They keep saying "New puter, New puter".

Must have been too many "Santa cookies"  :D

Whitepe,

Yeah, We will have to build a double wide desk; but we need to finish building our new woodworking shop first.  We are hanging drywall tomorrow if you want to stop by and help! ;D

Go get the Windows XP upgrade and your 1 computer can be all set up as 2, 3, 4 or whatever.   When you set down you log onto the computer and ALL the settings will change to you, cookies and all.   You will have your own favorites list, files and all just like you had your own computer.   We even have a "gest user" that lets people use our computer and thay cant look at our business files and sutch.   After useing XP I would never go back to the other stuff as it has a ton of things bilt in the others cant do without a lot of tinkering and it's all automatic.

Paul_H

Andy,
I have XP,and like it for the most part. But I have had a few problems with it that I can't solve.  :-/
When I come in the front door and try to vote, all I get is a pop up window that is blank. Some kind of java problem.

And if there is a link in a post,I have to copy, paste in the address bar, then push enter. If I just click on it,a blank window appears.
I can't play the game in Jeff's profile.

Any ideas?

Linda,

Can't make it Sunday but what about Monday? ;D
I'm still in Indiana but will be leaving to go home
in a couple of hours. I just took a look at a road
atlas to see where Norway was located. Not too
far. I used to drive over to  Iowa City to the allergy
clinic several years ago. Do you folks sell lumber
for the furniture factories in the Amana Colonies?

Maybe you, Al, Becky and I will have to meet for
lunch in the Quad Cities at R.J. Boar's some time
It looks like it's about half way between us.  I'll buy :)

ElectricAl

Whitepe,

The Amana Colonies furniture shops are a funny bunch.  The colonies own their own timber, have their own staff Forester, but buy lumber from a source in Illinois. ???

We do sell lumber to private shops located in the Amana colonies though. ;D

We also custom saw for the colonies. 4 years ago we had a 100 mph straightline wind go through. We sawed 50,000' of walnut and 70,000' cherry. All the other species went to a circular saw. None of the 1,000,000 plus'  stayed local. ::)

Tom

PaulH,  i'm speaking out of school but when that happened to my windows98 system I was told to clear my temporary internet files and restart my computer.  It worked.

What Tom sead ;D It all works fine for me and I know around 20 people that have switched on my addvice now and thay all love it.   If you open the tools dropdown on the top of the page and click on "internet options" it opens a box and on the general page hit the "delete cookies" and then the "delete files" and start over.   Now make shure you know your FF passward and all the others you have befor you do this becous the servers wont know who you are and you will need to log back into all of them as your computer wont have there cookie.   The "delete files" one cleers out your cash so you will be redownloading every thing all new when you go to a webpage, the cash is ment to save pix and things to speed up your serfing.   Now I went and put everything I know about computers in under 200 words, ;) to think it took ma years to find out that much. ::)   If that dont work I would go to  http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/ and go in ther chat room and ask them, thay are the best IT geeks you could ever want to talk to and thay are free to boot.
Andy

Linda

Whitepe,

Good thing you didn't show up today, we wouldn't have gotten any drywalling done.  We had 25 people show up today!

That's okay though, we got all the drywall hung on Sunday anyway.

Horselogger stopped by and we had a nice visit.

Maybe we'll find something for you to do some other day! ;D

Tom, Andy, and Paul H,

Thanks for all your helpful suggestions! :)
