Here's a few shots from our trip to the Netherlands. We went to Schoonhoven, where Jills grandmother is from. The weather did not cooperate real well but we did get a couple of nice days. We did see Van Gogh on his 400th birthday ;D ;D ;D  Happy B' day Vincent 8) 8) 8)

These trees were in Schoonhoven. There was obviously a guy in town that likes to prune and train trees

Jill look pretty happy to be here...even though it's about to rain cats and dogs and she didn't bring her umbrella :( :( :(

This was a great way to see the city.

Aaahhhh...The cool glow of red neon from the Red Light District at dusk. Surprisingly Jill wanted to walk through and see how the "Oldest Profession" works in Amsterdam. Of course who am I to argue ;D ;D ;D ;D

A busy day day near Dam Square.

We had a great time, but we were just a week or two from being able to see all the tulip fields in bloom.

Why not just 1 pain free day?

Great pics. My late mom spent time in Holland and was really impressed with the cleanliness and friendly people.

Glad you had a good trip, my wife, SIL and MIL went, mostly to Dordrecht and Gouda last year visiting family and touring around. When I picked them up at the airport they had about $30 left between them, they had a great time  :D.

There was a LOT of shopping there....and I mean a LOT :o :o :o :o

I'm surprised they came back with any money at all :D :D :D

I know that Jill now has a lot of new clothes and I might have to come out of retirement smiley_crying smiley_crying smiley_crying smiley_crying

Schoonhoven is famous for their silver, so mom and sis and bro and us and a few other people all got some silver. I'll never go anywhere that is famous for gold smiley_roller smiley_roller smiley_roller

The Netherlands was my introduction to fries with mayo about 40 years ago.  I guess some things don't change. I've tried them a time or two since, but somehow they didn't taste the same.  :)
