Questions on Hickory trees

  Bring it up north of the river and I will show you how to shuck that thing.  It is about 30 mile to Marshall form here.  Takes a crow about 5 minites but you closer to 45.
  For some reason pecan trees do not grow well around here but hickorys do very well.  About 5 miles from me is a pecan that is at least 4' across at the base and is said to have been back filled with dirt so the trunk is really 3 ft down.  The owner of this fine tree says that if it dies it is mine. 8) 8) 8)
   Maybe hickorys are harder to saw because their nuts are harder.

We don't seem to have any hickory around our area, I was wondering if anyone could post some pictures of the sawn wood or things built out of it?
