Anyone know where to find a jig or template to cut butterflies for inlay into slabs?

personally I'd make one to the size you want and save yourself some $. Ed

All you need is an inlay kit for your router.  This will guide a bit to cut both the butterfly hole and the butterfly.  You can buy a cheep plastic template or make your own from 1/4" plastic stock.   If you make your own template you'll be able to easily make a new one when you accidentally cut into the template.

You can get the router inlay kit from Woodcraft or from nearly any woodworking tool supplier.

There is much info on the web on kits, template, and how-to.  Here's a note that describes how to do it without buying a template.

If you buy a kit the first thing to make is a couple of new templates (for accidents) ::)

Are you trying to do something like this?

Louisiana Country boy
homemade mill, 20 h.p. Honda & 4 h.p. for hydraulics.  8 hydraulic circuits, loads, clamps, rotates, etc.

Highpockets,
I know how yours was cut, but can you cut a template using that program and that image????
Seems like not an easy task to modify that one, but maybe you have something else up your sleeve.
Heck, instead of buying templates, maybe he can pay you enough to get back out in the shop and cut them for him. Got to more fun than working on that sawmill all the time.
