CHARLIE

About 1:00pm, Beenthere (Kent) and his wife Carol stopped by for a nice visit. They were on the way to Minnesota to listen to one of their sons perform in a Barbershop Chorus tonight.  I showed them my shop and then we sat down for a good enjoyable conversation. I hated to see them go.  Kent brought me some hickory logs to turn too!  :)  Sure was fun. 8)   Hey Chet!!!!  My shop is "relatively" clean now. Hurry down and take a look before I mess it up again. ;D

That good looking lady sure makes y'all look like you been whipped with an Ugly Stick!  ;)

Well,  Tom,  I never would have said something mean natured like that,  but I was just wondering how that old rascle landed such a nice looking wife.  It sure wasn't with his good looks or charm :D :D :D

It's probably cause of his good taste in music 8) 8)  In addition to Barbershop he no doubt likes gospel and bluegrass 8) 8)

Looks to me like he overdid it at the barbershop. ;D ;D

DanG it Dan,  be careful what you say about that feller's hairstyle >:(  That's exactly the same way I have mine done 8)  Come to think of it,  that's probably how come we both got such pretty wives ;D

Oh, is that what's been attractin' all them pretty women to me?  And all this time I thought it was all this Salve Warfare and deboner manners I got. ???

Well, it sure was a good visit and much enjoyed by both Donna and I.  Now I think I'm going to have to make a visiting trip to the Madison area sometime in the near future to visit Beenthere and Burlkraft.

Thank you, Charlie and Donna. You were great hosts.
Well, we are back home now and at least I will agree with some of what was said  :D). Fresh strawberries on homemade pound cake can't be beat. Had a quick but great visit and tour of Charlie's shop. A couple of very neat mementos he gifted us with. Many thanks.
Here we are getting ready to go, and Charlie has cleaned the hickory sticks outta the car.  They were b*** ugly but the neat things Charlie can do, I 'spect they may not stay that way.  He has some neat burls and things to keep busy with.

Went on to Eden Prairie, MN and enjoyed a great aCapella show with several Barbershop quartets and the Great Northern Union Chorus who are heading for Indianapolis week after next to compete in the International Competition. Click here for info if interested   There is even a webcast available to see and hear the competition of 50 some quartets and 20 Chorus's from US, Canada and I believe NZ, Australia, UK, Sweden (but will need to check the list to be sure). It has even spread into Russia, and its great to hear Russians sing barbershop harmony.   Bedtime now.  :)

I think that hair style is what it is. Every time my wife cuts my hair there is less there and she is getting better looking all the time. :)

Why not just 1 pain free day?

CHARLIE

Y'all probably think that Beenthere took that picture of me before I could suck my gut in. Well, that ain't right. I was sucking my gut in. :D

Burlkraft and Beenthere, I'll give y'all fair warning before I head your way and that coffee sure sounds good to me.

I was gonna serve Beenthere a lot of  g r i t s  but he couldn't stay long enough so he got strawberries and pound cake instead. ;D

UNCLEBUCK

I agree it is fun to meet forum visitors .   If you guys had those striped shirts you look like you could be barbershoppers ?  Last year his son was at a big contest in Utah if I remember right so he must be a heavy duty barbershopper .   Looks like everyone had a good day !  smiley_singsongnote02
