Finally about to get my mill ready to cut. I finished and painted the safety gaurds today, stopped and picked up lube nozzles (agriculture fan spray type). Stopped at auto parts store and got an after market fuel pump that's rated for 5-9 PSI. I don't want to ignite a lube debate, but the petroleum guys say use it sparingly. My nozzles are rated for .21 GPM (per nozzle) at 20 PSI. I'll be using less than 9 PSI, but this still this sounds like a bunch, it may be dificult to use sparingly and still get a good fan spray. I don't know anything about lubes as far as the sawing goes, but I like the idea of keeping water out of gaurds and bearings. Now, if I change my mind and decide to go water based, will my fuel pump hold up ok, or should I take it back and get a windshield washer pump instead?  Thank You.

That's an interesting idea using a fuel pump...never thought of that.  I bought ag nozzles with a flat fan pattern.  Couldn't get nuff lube through them...drilled em out a little so it might take a little experimenting.

I found that if you use too much petro the blades are too hard to keep on. Just a few squirts per cut seems fine. I think they do some sort of hydroplaning  ????????? Much easier to keep the pitch off the blade also.

Pulse the pump. A automotive flasher would be to much or to many pulses. The Lube Mizer System uses a time delay that is veriable. Might be a good thing to put a fuse on the system also.

An after market /add on windshield wiper intermitant switch should work to control a 12v pump for a sprayer. Try your local auto parts store.

I used a momentary push button switch and hit both sides with a 20/80 chain oil diesel mix and it was very easy to get enough . A couple squirts before entering the cut was enough. If I got a pitch buildup I would use a little more after the cut and it would disolve away. You wont have any problems. I would not make it too complicated. You don't need a intermittant system. A little lube goes a long way. LW
