Two of my brothers drew blood one the first shot with an Ultimag...one broke his nose and the other split his lip wide open. I elected not to fire it, I was happy with my 3 inch shells.  ;)

I had a chance to shoot the Super Nova this weekend. I loved it. They redesigned the stock to reduce recoil. I shot a few 3 inch shells and was suprised that it did not kick bad. Thier site says it reduces recoil by as much as 62%. From what I have read from others I am glad I did not go with the regular Nov. Still have to pattern it. The extra full choke I purchased would not fit it so I had to go back and exchange it for one that would. I made them check it on one of the guns in stock before I took it home this time.

Quick question. I live in Missouri and we have to stop turkey hunting by 1:00pm each day. In Kansas you can hunt all day. What are the shooting hours in other states?

In Memphis it's 24 hrs a day............365 days a year.  ;D  Not the same in all of TN.  8)

Wisconsin turkey hours are ½ hour before sunrise to sunset each of the 5 days in the hunting period. Lottery drawing to get permits for bag of 1 bearded turkey.  First period starts tomorrow morning.

Our large Wisconsin population originally came from MO.   Thanks to you all there.  :)

Florida's hunting day runs from 1/2 hour before sunrise to Sunset.  I'm not aware of any game where the cutoff is in the middle of the day.

We have had early cut off times here for doves in the past. If the Feds think the populations are low (for Federal Migratory Game Birds) they can limit the amount of time they can be hunted. Our turkey is a half hour before sunrise to sunset as well.

Iowa pheasant (in the 50's) was start time of noon. Wisconsins turkey started out just in the morning, 'til noon. But dat didn't keep da 'herd' in check. Those MO birds multiply fast in WI.  :)

The orange laws are what keeps you alive. Your not supposed to move on
a gobbler , but on state game lands you will call as many hunters as turkey.
I'm glad to stay on my own ground.

Had to look it up since I don't go goobles. April 1 - 30 in 43 counties. Don't know if that means you can't shoot them in the other 211 counties or you can shoot them year round in those counties. ;D

Texas also has Mandatory Check stations for turkey. The one for my county is just up the FM a little piece, and has gone out of buisness. I guess I can just go shoot them and take them straight home. :)

I am not a turkey hunter but I do have a friend who was born in Turkey, Texas though. Not everyone can say that because it is a real small hole in the wall with a population according to my friend of less than 500 even though they claim more. I asked why that was and she said "They ain't got no 500 they juss laktuh poot on arz therra big sprawlin metruh-plex." :D

Anyone from that part of Texas will tell ya I ain't exaggerating the dialect.

rb that is more info than you asked for I will have to charge you extry. :)
The oil is all in Texas, but the dipsticks are in D.C.

I'd have kept the 870 and got a full choke barrel.  Not sure if a 3 in would work but that is another thought?  I've still got an Ithaca 37 that I'll never sell, several barrels for: slugs, upland, ducks/turkey/geese.

I'll be out with my 12 ga ML, gave up shooting modern arms......nice thing about a ML, each load is a custom load, more/less powder/shot.

Good luck filling your pot/freezer!!!
