I musta been naughty...  :(

Seriously, though, I got a couple of pressies, My brother bought me an external HDD for my computer, and my cousin-in-law bought me a Tripod for my camera which are both magnificent pressies. Andrew's pressie is yet to come because I haven't found what I want yet ;)

But the best present of all was a nice, quiet day with family. A great phone call from my magnificent mum who I adore, and my very happy daughter having a lovely day.

It was her 11th Christmas, and as per family tradition, she received a box of pencils. Now I bet that sounds funny, but, when I was 11, I got a pack of 72 Derwent pencils, and I used them all through high school I loved those pencils. In fact I still have them. They're all there, in good condition (albeit somewhat shorter than they were over 25 years ago when I got them!). So, when my son was 11, he got a pack of pencils, and now it's Stephie's turn. She was THRILLED. She could barely choose which one to use first!

She also got a horseriding vest, and a beautiful ring from Andrew and I. A few other small things, but, we make a point of not having too many things, because we want the day to be about family, not gifts. I used to go overboard at Christmas, but have really dialled it back in the last few years. I couldn't afford it and it was mostly junk they didn't need. I've learned now... Stephanie's also saving her money to buy herself a camera, so she got some money from us all, too.

Andrew's thrilled, I bought him a 10CD set of Pavarotti singing live. He is very pleased with it.

Overall, we've all really been good (even those of us who have been good at being naughty ;) ).

Tomorrow we go back down to the farm, which is fantastic too.

Wow Woody1, y'all hit the jackpot!  I especially like that Mill Special you got for your Wife!  How very thoughtful of you. ;D :D

Asy, it sounds like you guys already had a great Christmas.  That pencil tradition is really cool.  I bet I would get along well with Andrew, since he likes Pavarotti.  I have a hard time finding someone to enjoy that kind of stuff with.  Have fun at the farm! :)

Well, I thought I had been nice.  Santa brought me a Lexmark wireless printer.  8) So I stuck the cd in my year old laptop and started to install the program, and lo and behold, a message came up that I needed 800 mhz computer speed and only had 589 mhz or so.   :(  Just for chuckles I tried it in my desktop with Windows ME.  The thing almost snickered as it rudely informed me THAT computer isn't up to the task. :-[  Maybe I have been naughty and Santa was just messing with me. >:(

I was real nice at first, then got a little bit naughty.  Ya see, we did all our shopping at the ATM this year, and just gave everybody a card with cash inside.  They was all real happy and got to feeling good about things, so I whipped out my favorite deck of cards and started a poker game.  I won a good bit of it back. ;D :D :D :D

Well we won't take a poll on the naughty or nice question but I did make out pretty well. #1 son brought over my grandson to spend the day with us which is just about as good as it gets. #2 son bought me a new brad nailer and Patty got me a  hobart slicer and a big green egg.

Both boys surprised us by saying to take the rest of the week off work and they'd cover for us.

I must have been real naughty cause I did not get anything.  Well thats not entirely correct our daughter flew in from Portland OR so that is great.  Tomorrow we will be going to Indy to our other daughters for our Christmas and get to see our new grandson again.  So maybe it won't be such a bad Holiday season after all. :)

I'm not sure....I did get a new Carhart jacket, but it'll be a stiff couple of months til the DanG thing is broken in.   ;D

(BTW...i got a glimpse of my own personal he** :  my oldest daughter wanted a weight set, one of those cable machines, and in our mini basement I spent 9 hours Christmas eve assembling it!  I told her when we move it's staying with the house!)
