Thats an old thread. We are referring to last weeks thread concerning negative effects of E85

I was the one that started the topic, it should of been in reference of E10 instead of E85.  Guess when I started the topic I was not thinking, the fuel I used in my sawmill was E10 and not E85, that was the fuel I noticed the decrease in performance from.   I removed the thread because after reading back through it alot of the items i was talking about was incorrect since I was referencing E85 instead of E10.  Didnt want members to get wrong information from my post.  Sorry if some missed going back to the topic.

The Wal-Marts and other stations throguhout Oklahoma are selling fuel with 10% ethanol added without consumers being aware.  They are working on trying to pass a law that fuel stations will have to put lables on the pumps if it contains ethanol in the fuel.

The topic was reserrected in the alternative board. We did not know why it was removed and instant message about it to the admins had us baffled as well.
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

Alls well that ends well.   I did tell other non-F/F people that gas co. are putting E-85 in pumps and not telling them. I think the more talk about  E- , right or wrong the better. 8) 8)

My son in law was discussing his flex fuel van last night.  He can buy E 85 about $.60 cheaper than gas.  Last winter he tried it, and his mileage dropped from about 19 MPG to about 16 MPG. I did a little figuring.  If gas is $3.80 and E 85 is $3.20, then cost wise both are equal at $.20 per mile.  However, he has tried two tanks lately, and getting around 17 to 18 mpg with the E85.  That puts his cost at $.178 to $.188 per mile.  If he can maintain that, then he is better off with the E85.
