I was taught to stand on the band and roll your thumbs towards each other. Same thing as he did just vertical instead of horizonal. I would wear leather gloves tho.

Yeah, I should have worn gloves, I very rarely wear gloves, but they are a VERY good idea with bands.  I like to live life on the edge.

Safety glasses are a real good idea to have on also.

Those teeth will do a real number on an eyeball  :o
