Hi ya's
have seen this  set up  come up on a few topics    had 2 young guys help me pruneing    both of them good blokes  work hard  but  there fileing   :o
ok so the question is  or questions are
is it any good  ?? ok  there wil be the howls  of hand file   but    i'm thinking this set should  stop a few screw ups  ..
eazy to use ??
how much  of a drop on the rakers  25 ,30,35 thou   or just some random setting they come up with ..
i know some will hate them    some love them  some never used them  etc etc  same as all the other   ways of  fileing  or grinding chains ..

i did used to have  a grind n joint  thingy   that worked great   but in the wrong hands   heat the teeth up  and  the chains   go to hell in a handbag  i also have a 12V  grinder  like the shop ones  but not  real happy about the  grind it gives  ..

catch ya

I hand sharpened chainsaw chain for 25 years cutting firewood, and thought that I was pretty good at it.  That jig turned out to be real jewel.  Using it, I did a much better job, and it was faster.  I can do it better with the jig than without, so to me, that is a real plus.

Mad Professor

I have one but only use it on the picco chain on my sawmill.  I've went through quite a few chains with it and a couple of round files, still original flat file.

I've not bothered to check depth on rakers as the filed chain cuts great. It's small (16-25" ) bars on an 066 so even if they were set a bit deep it wouldn't bog the saw.  It's something I should check though.

Hi ya's
well i brought 3 of them  for the diffrent saws i have  wee 221TH   a 109  and PS 5000 /PS9010   any how  found they worked great
even tho  i have tryed other things i found  them simple to use and whats more a good cut    have to give the idea 2 thumbs up  for weekend sawers or  getting the hang of hand fileing

For my 3/8" picco chains the pferd drops the rakers to a very consistant .025
The flat file seems to last through ten or so round files.
