Hello again folks, just showing up to beg of your expertise again.... :)

I've got a pole buyer coming on Fri. to mark which red pine he is willing to buy for poles.

In case it makes a differance, I'm in the midcoast area of Maine.

He's told me ahead of time that he'll pay $63/ton for 42' and less poles and $65/ton for 47'
and 52' poles.  Are these prices decent/comptetive? Are prices for poles in a slump right now,
or is this a good time to be selling?

Those prices are for them delivered to him. It's about 45miles from my place to the mill, any idea on
how much I'm going to be looking at for trucking costs?

For red pine, how much is an average log going to weigh that's say 42' long and 8"+ at the top?  52' long and 9"?

Thanks for any advice! I'm sure I'll have follow up questions.... :)

Should be able to make a couple phone calls to a few truckers and find out or at least get a ball park figure.Idea for trucking,I hate to guess but $500 would not surprise me much. What mill are you selling to?Poles? What are they making out of them?

Either way your going to come out weighing a little over a ton per log with the 42 and 52 foot logs but the 52 foot might go a ton and a half per log.
