Hi Fellas;
I just had my right hand done on Monday 12/15!
I guess it didn't go to bad, I was in, not quite an hour and woke up back in my room with my lovely wife waiting for me!
Not much discomfort, just a bulky bandage and wrist brace to contend with!
The real kicker is, I'm scheduled to have my left hand done on 12/24 (Christmas eve) of all days.

I had the symptoms of CT for quite a few years, mostly my hands would go numb while driving and I'd have to shake it off and then I'd be ok for a little while, then it would happen again!

With regard to running the sawmill, I wanted to get it taken care of when we were in the "off-season"!
I plan on starting our sawing season sometime in April!  So, that gives me about 4 months recuperation time and the Doc said at least 4 weeks after my final surgery!

Doc said whenever doing anything that has heavy vibration, like hammering, splitting wood and especially things like hammer drills, to wear gloves that have a padded palm.

Well fellas, I probably bored you long enough now.
Have a Merry Christmas;
Chuck

I have the same problem in both hands. When I was building my house in 04 my arm would go numb up to my elbow while driving sometimes, real quick like. Couldn't hold a eating utensil at times. I need to have the surgery. anyone that has had it done told me it is the thing to do. :)

My wife almost had the surgery then she got talked into trying acupuncture first. Now she doesn't need the operation! That was 10 years ago and the wrist is still doing fine  8)
Ya might want to give it a try, nothing lost if it doesn't work you can still do the operation.

Everything's going pretty well.  Just have to contend with the bulky bandage/brace!

I go back to have the left done on the 24th and by Jan 5th or so I should have the bandage from the second one removed!

Sure will be nice not to be bothered with the numbness anymore!

I had it done 2 years ago, it went so so....Doc told me 6 weeks be back to normal...took almost 20 weeks...I had it done in the winter... i use a computer everyday, it was my mouse hand. my left hand needs to be done but i'm going to wait until i can't take handle the numbess anymore! The issue i had was the doc had to remove some muscle, so the muscle had to heal.

Good luck chuck, hopefully things will go better for you then me!  ;)

I have that same problem, seems everytime my wife wants the trash taken out my whole upper body goes numb.

Seriously though, its not a pleasant thing to live with Carpal Tunnel that is.

I know the feeling. I've had both hands done some time ago and haven't had any problems since the surgeries. Don't let the discomfort go too long without treatment as the problem gets worst, the nerves in the arm can go dead as they are being pinched off in the wrist cannel.

Never explain, your friends don't need it, and your enemies won't believe you any way.
