Would anyone have a contact for a logger in Minnesota. I am trying to aquire a few Butternut logs for a surprise for my BIN the woodcarver. I just want to buy the logs and cut them on my mill.  ???
Thanks
I owe I owe so its off to work I go....

If you don't have any luck right away here, try calling your County Forester.  He could probably put you onto someone.

Try calling Mid-West Walnut in Council Bluffs,

They may have a couple logs laying around.

Butternut is a rare find on the East side of Iowa :(

Tried Midwest Walnut no go. :'( Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots of Walnut stacked in real big piles. ;D I am thinking someone in Minnesota may know where I can obtain some.  :P Much of it is suffering from a canker that apparently kills it.
I do appreciate the suggestion about MWW ;)
I have contacted MN DNR perhaps they can help

We did saw some for a local logger 3 years ago. Sawed @
1 1/8" and Kiln dried. It went to his place, and I bet it's still there.

Not sure what thickness you want but it's an option.

He might have a log, but if he does be ready to pay

Call 7am or you'll get the machine.

Another thought is the Amana Forestry department.

They have 8000 acres by us.

I spent 20 years logging in MN. Never seen a butternut tree, but then I never logged any further south than Little Falls.
Good luck on your search.
