I posted the message about the 100+ year old oak tree.  I noticed your find a Sawyer function and found several companies in my area that look like they could be helpful in keeping my tree out of the fireplace.  I tried contacting them with your online email function, but I keep getting an error "can't run from here".   Is that contact function not working or did the messsages go through only with an error.  Please advise.

Thanks

Tim Daniel

You are either trying to run the form from a saved page or you have accessed the page without a www in the address.

I just tried it and it seemed fine

I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

I was able to get the list of mills in michigan but I couldn't use the conact form on their individual pages.  Some of the companies don't have phone numbers listed.

I just tested one of the Michigan Mills. The one I work at. The message went through and the form went to a thank you page. I know it went through because I get thier messages. :)

Maybe I'm dense, but it dosn't work for me.  I just tried it again.  I entered my name, email and phone, typed a message and clicked send.  I get the Sorrry.....can't fun from here" error message.

What am I doing wrong.  I am running from an active web page.

Jeff,
While it is on my mind use the pulldown State menu for Kansas, hit search and see what comes up.  If you fix it might get a little lonely for Steve at Kansas Hardwoods all by himself.

Are you using a free I.S.P. ?  Like Juno? Some bottom basement service providers will cache the form causing it to appear like it is being run from somewhere else. That kicks in my anti spam system and it wont run. Keeps the baddies from using my sendmail program to do thier dirty work.

Tim after reading the other post I see you're from Dearborn.  That's quite aways from me.  I'd be concerned about hardware in that tree.  It'd be a real pain in the but to roll around on a carriage.

I have cable internet (Wide Open West).  Everything else is no problem.

I don't think you have to worry about metal in the tree.  The property has been in the family since the late 1800's.  My dad grew up in the house I now own (built by my grand dad).  Just don't want the tree to become firewood if I can help it.

FYI,

Mary and I drove up to Olney, MO. yesterday afternoon and visited with Bernice and Donnie Jones of Jones Sawmill.  I had tried to contact them twice last summer using the "Find a Sawyer" service.  I never got a reply and they said they never received my message.

That's all I know.

Oh yea.  Metal in a tree...  Had a guy once bring me a few walnut logs from trees in the back yard where he grew up... Swore up and down there were no nails in them.  Cut and pull enough nails out of those two logs you couldn't close your hand around them.

You never know. ???
