I have spent so much time lately chasing rust repair on my one ton, as well as losing the drive axel on the dozer.  New front brake lines and fuel pump and line to carb, then fuel return line.

So,  during plowing on last sundays storm, when the auto trans wouldn't upshift I just finished plowing and parked the thing in disgust.  All week I have thinking about putting another trans in or having this one repaired for the third time in 59,000 miles and giving my self ajida( Itialian for heartburn :D)  Then it dawned on me, RUST REPAIR!  Sure enough I went out to check yesterday just before Kath and I left for some Christmas shopping and the vacuum line to the modulator had broken off completley. 8) 8)  Had the line and rubber left over from the gas return repair so a few minutes bending and this morning I was back to smooth shiftin turbo 400.  Yee Ha!

All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
   Second, it is violently opposed; and
   Third, it is accepted as self-evident.

Bro. Noble

You guys better watch it making fun of me--------I've had this feeling that I should be helping Santa,  so I sent him a detailed list of forum members who have naughty.  Lucky for you guys,  I had calmed down by the time it was returned for insufficient postage :D :D

I spotted an old 72 Cutlass Supreme setting behind a gas station / garage years ago when I had time to work on old cars.  The guy that ran the station owned it and would part with it 'as is – where is' for not much.  Said the transmission was messed up.. wouldn't shift up and wouldn't start in any gear but reverse.

I got it started and ran it home stuck in low gear.  When I had time to mess with it,  I found the shift linkage needed adjusting about an 1/8 of an inch and the vacuum line was off.  Took me about 10 minutes to fix the transmission problems.  I though – he was sure some mechanic.
