I had been reading about milling in cold weather, etc. and today I found out one of the concerns. As you may know from previous posts, my LT15 is being housed at a local college this winter. Today we had temps in the 40's, with rain, so I thought it a good day to resaw some maple. Long story short - band jumped off the drive wheels, twice. In the process of replacing the wheel belts, I noticed 3 frozen clumps of sawdust in the v-groove of the drive wheel. Cleaned out the v-groove and no more problems. The last time they used it they used straight water as lube, time to switch over to a non-freezing lube.  Related thought - I was resawing 1.5" maple to 1" so the planer would have less to do - another plus for a band mill!
