As of Friday my dayjob at the request of my GM just increased substantially for the next month. It will be problematic to say the least and the best way I know to get it out of my head is to go into the paddocks and swing off a chainsaw.

My son had been cutting firewood to sell from this 200 acre paddock because it was easy getting, these days he's moved onto other things and my wife had never been to this part of our farm before. So we took a run up there, ran 3 tanks of fuel through split a couple of loads. Its mainly Box and Stringybark eucalyptus.

My new generation of helpers in their "safe zone" just getting some saw noise. Since the older boys moved out we needed to breed some new hired help. ;)

And then the camera batteries died

The batteries died just in time for the last great picture.

Thanks for sharing some photos.  It looks like you have plenty of wood when you have the time.

Why is all that wood down?  Is that just the nature of those species?

I have to be carefull not to let the woodpile runout or it gives my wife amo to get a gas heater, even with all this wood ???

WDH the loggers went through about 10 yrs back before I bought the place and only took the billet to the 1st branch leaving the head on the ground, they also left 100's of trees with pipes and we have piles of dozed up windrowed wood. We do get a lot of blow down gums/eucalypts I will try and post some pics of them soon.

I put these picks on the forum a few yrs back

Looks like you have a whack of firewood potential.
