double hard, or silvertip wm blades

  I have a 13hp honda on a t.a.scmid saw, I seem most of the logs that I'm getting are large oak (better that 32") and maple with a few locust.  I've tried an .042 with 7/8 spacing double hard, worked well, didn't last too long.  A .035 with 1/2 spacing in silver tip, that I haven't been able to use effectivley yet. It was cutting wavy, and you guys told me what I need to do to straighten thing up.
  I need to order a pack of blades, and I want to make the right decision.  Many of you have already made it clear to no go over .042 on my saw.  Great start, but that still leaves a lot of available blades.
  Most all of the logs that I have coming up for the forseeable future with be big hardwood (probably too big for my saw, I'll figure it out)

"Didn't last too long" could have many meanings.  Were your logs clean?  It is VERY important to not saw through dirt, grit. etc.  How many bf did you saw before dulling?

WM DoubleSharp is the only blade that I use, and quite satisfactorily I might add.

Who will do your resharpening?  If you plan on using WM Resharp, they will only sharpen WM blades.

cutting oak with bark will dull most blades quickly ,add a bit of mud or dirty logs and you may be changeing blades one after another after just a few cuts ,....if you hit a nail or barb wire or worse get jamb up in a cut most likley the blade is scrap ....i use lenox production blades they cost about 90.00 bucks each ,however its STILL SHARP at the end of the day

I've used both lines of  WM blades, and they are both good. The Doublehard are definitely more durable, but if you cut logs that might have trash in them or otherwise destroy a lot of blades, the silvertips are way cheaper.
