We're heading south on I-55 to hit the gulf area later on this winter. Have no interest in NO's so will skirt around it. More interested in some fishing and such so thought I'd ask those that live there for suggestions.

How far down the gulf are you coming?
The First 72 years of childhood is always the hardest.
My advice on aging gracefully... ride fast bikes and date faster women, drink good tequila, practice your draw daily, be honest and fair in your dealings, but suffer not fools. Eat a hearty breakfast, and remember, ALL politicians are crooks.

Just south of the NO's area, maybe a little into MS but not much further.

Thanks Chris, appreciate the offer.

Just got through watching BassMaster where a dozen launched from and fished Venice LA.  They were catching mostly 3 - 4 pounders, at least on film.   :D :D :D  Good luck and have a safe trip.

Beats the winter days in Iowa!

It has been amazingly mild in the deep South this winter.  Enjoy some good seafood, then hurry back to Iowa to post more scrumptious pictures of food that you cook!  (My diet book says to turn off access to the Food Board on the Forestry Forum just because of you and Mooseherder  :) ).

You two have fun in the sun.

Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana are very beautiful. I had never been to any of these states before and we really enjoyed ourselves.

But it sure is nice to be home again.   :)

I certainly know that feeling. Did ya'll get to do any fishing? I know you took more than one picture.

We're back home, the vacation got cut short as Patty's Mom got sick and went into the hospital. She's 88 and we felt concerned to be so far away.

Weather was rainy so we didn't do as much fishing as we'd like but still caught a few. One evening we got to watch the dolphins come into the shallow water next to where we were staying. It was fun to watch them do a little fishing themselves although how they could do so in just a couple of feet of water was beyond me.

I've never seen so much nice lumber in my life. Now I understand how MM stays so busy. Thanks to you guys that offered to visit with us, I hate to have you drop you're work to do so and didn't want to impose. I really appreciate the offers.  :)

Buck

Well Norm, I think ya'll oughta plan another trip and this time bring your truck and trailer. ;)

Glad that you had a safe trip.  Folks say "well I guess that you have trees everywhere?"  I say "yup, we do".  Had you gone West and traveled US Hwy 61, you would have seen much more hardwood.
