How do folks, 2 things, I am looking to trade out 4 23-1-26 skidder tires on 14 lug John Deere rims for 4 18-4-26 or 18 -4-34 tires and rims for my 440c. 2 tires are 60 percent good, 2 are worn but have 90 percent ring chains on them, Need help finding folks that are in this buisness, I had a deal going with some folks in N.C as did another logger and They gave me a major run around, Then left me high and dry, putting me off for 2 weeks then selling tires out on me after I had paid someone to remove them, Use a trailor, Moved them to my house, Borrowed a back hoe, Then waited over a 2 week period as they kept up with excuses and then just called and said they sold other ones, Also left another logger 2 weeks after the first tire they brought him up had a 7 inch cut in it, He was suppose to be getting one of my tires in trade, He has been down for 2 weeks. Company is called I believe northern logger, I have numbers if anyone is interested. I would stay away from these guys as they hussle from N.C up to Maine and back. Thanks. Peter.

Yes they sure are giving us the run around, >:( Sucks that we have money tied up in it now. :( I gave them a $200 deposit for the tires because they told me they had no money to get back to NC. spam_ So now after that I have been waiting for over three weeks for a tire from them. Plus they screwed me over on one heck of a good deal with a fellow in NH. I was supose to get two 60% tires and a set of 90% ring chains with them and get one of the tires mounted on my rim. I said enough is enough bring me a tire with at least 60% tread and a set of 90% ring chains or give me my money back! The tire says give me a few hours to think about it and I'll call you back tonight or in the morning. Guess what no call back and I'm still waiting to here from them. smiley_furious

Their lucky their not dealing with me, i would have went house calling. I didn't call the law, they had to deal with me and i put the fear-of- God- in-them.
They'd be happy campers to full fill the deal we made.

Unfourtunatly it is. >:( They are keeping me from bidding on a real nice 85 acre plot of timber because I can't give the landowner a time frame on when I might be able to do it. The land owner wants in to be completed from start to finish in six months.

Hindsight is 20/20, but I don't think I would've gave them a deposit if they needed it to get home, sounds like a sketchy crew right there. Hope you find some tires at any rate. If you got the cash and work for that machine, I'd just buy new tires and save a lot of headaches.

I agree with Bartender as much as a fellow hates to drop that much cash for tires your losing money every day your not in the woods. But I must confess I need two new 24.5x 32's and at twenty five hundred a tire I am pretty tight also  :D

Ya I found a tire and chains. I wound up making a deal with stoneeaglefarm. The NC guys told me that they will be sending a money order in the mail for my refund will see if they do?

I don't know how you can stay down so long. If i was down more then 2, 3 days i was slipping backward, with contractors and the pocket book.

I would really stay away from those N.C. boys, I talked to another logger on this site and they asked him for money upfront so they could afford to get back home and showed up in a pickup truck with tires in back, Which one was junk,

I always buy local and buy new then if you have problems they are easy to solve.

Fellow Loggers, The tire boys from N.C have still not given logman back his deposit, He and I hooked up and did a tire deal to get him back in the woods, Here in Antrim we have a salvage shop called PB&H equipment, One call to them and they had me hooked up with 4 tires and rims from some fine folks from Michigan, They are on the 440C in less than 5 days as oppsosed to waiting 3 weeks for the bad deal from N.C. To continoue the saga of bad folks out there in the logging buisness, Be Oh so careful, The 440c I bought from a guy that was suppose to be woods ready has had $5000.00 put in it and still not pulled a hitch, What happen to logger taking care of loggger, So, From a man that helped form the first Professioial loggers program in the fine state of N.H. after sitting on N.H. Timber council for 5 years to working to change some laws in this state I say, Its been a bummer to deal with a bad tire guy and a bad logger, They both put the wood to me so to speak as well as others, Letsw hope they get the wood put to them. No bitching, Just bothered.

Glad to hear you are back in woods, For those folks like us there is no better place to be than cutting timber, I am still down with the 440c I bought from the lying boys of upper New York, Bought a machine in there words was woods ready, Funny, $5000.00 later and it still needs work and has not pulled a tree, Any body know someone over Adirondeck ways that may help me find a way to make these fine folks treat people better. Lets all hope better markets and weather are on the way, Been a tough 4 years for all of us in the woods.

logman81

Three weeks and still no refund from these jerks! Someone needs to pay them a visit with thunder and lightning if you know what I mean.

Finally got my refund from the boys. But now I have been given a chance to possibly work for another company. Will see what happens in the next couple weeks.

Glad you got your Money, What type of work as far as going to work for another company, I have e-mailed, called and text the boys from The Adirondecks who sold me that bone 440c that is still not in woods after all this time, Thunder and lightening I would like, But, A honest deal would ahve been better. Any one out there got any ideas and how I should go about this or am I up S%*$creek with our a paddle.

logman81

Well I will be going to meet the guy next week for an interview. They will be starting a new job cutting hardwood veneer logs. The guy that is in charge of that part of the  buisness is moving away. So he is looking for a guy to take the logging position.
