I have like 10 Pin Oaks on the Front and side board of my Property, They are mixed in with other types of trees, The Pin Oaks are nice and create a nice barrier, but trimming them is a pain, There branches get stuck together and they scratch the heck out of you, By the time I am done I am bleeding all over.

A pin by it's nature atrophies the bottom limbs as the tree grows and they lack sunlight .They can hang on the tree for years and years before they fall off .

Yeah the limbs are tough old birds about like living barbed wire .

I've seen big old fat ones in fence rows the lower 15-20  feet is nothing but dead branchs which are about like climbing a pine tree .No easy feat at all .

I try and keep up with the dead branches, this way I am not cutting off a lot at a time, because they are such a pain to manage, Just moving them to the brush pile is a pain because they lock together.

Best way to control the Pin Oak limbs is to cut 'em off about a foot off the ground :D
Just cause your head's pointed, don't mean you are sharp.

Speaking of which ,pin oak one of the trimmers dropped off one a  few years back ,huge .It had chunks over 4 feet in diameter .At the same time he dropped off a honey locust also 4 feet .

There's about 6-8 cords still in my pile that I split the whole mess with an electric splitter before I built my 5 inch gasoline powered  job .Probabley burn that stack or part of it this year .

Pin oak has no commercial value to speak of save firewood or perhaps cribbing .

They're a pain as yard trees too.  Clean up all the other leaves in the fall and then clean up the pin oak in the spring.

Don't attribute irritating behavior to malevolence when mere stupidity will suffice as an explanation.
