New guy here.  My beloved Stihl 026 has finally stopped running.  Has compression, but most likely low.  Zero spark with plug removed from head.  Purchased after market coil, still no spark.  If flywheel aids in spark, could that be my issue?  Where do I go from here?  Please advise. Thanks 👣

How is the plug and did you gap the flywheel/coil?  How are you grounding the plug?  Is kill wire and switch working?  Insulation on coil wire?  Check switch/kill wire with ohm meter to ground on cylinder
Take a peek at the piston through ex port if you get spark back and it still don't run

Slim chance it's the flywheel. Unless it's thrown magnets or something and I'm sure you'd know about that. My guess would be a failed switch. Leave the kill switch wire disconnected and floating and try it. And make sure you try a new plug! I used to scoff at people saying try a new spark plug until I saw one that looked perfectly fine fail completely one day
