Watched a Hobby Hardwood YouTube on how to deal with stress in a log. Wanted to post a picture of what I learned. If you happened to have seen the video you will recognize it.

I'm looking for some advise / reviews of the Woodmiser planner / joiner combo machines. This is just for me to use for my hobby / low volume wood milling. The specs look really good along with the prices as compared to other brands, and it's a Woodmiser :)Read More

This regarding timber that loggers want, and will harvest in forestry operations. In the past month, I have come across two timber people who have mentioned that hickory is not desirable forestry-wise and that surprised me, I thought the opposite. One was a forester discussing forestry management and the focus was white oak but he also mentioned other desirables to nurture along with it but hickory was a negative. Wish he would have elaborated more. Other guy drives a logtruck here and he was thinking that the mills don't even want it in hardwood loads, period. I don't get it. I love it as firewood anyway!Read More
