store osage orange in water?

I cut down an osage orange tree the other day. I'm going to use this wood for making selfbows. I'm thinking about storing the split logs in my bass pond until ready for them. Will it have any negative affect on the fish? The pond is about 3/4 acre...

Because of the water soluble chemicals in this species, you will discolor the water. The dye from this wood was used for dying military uniforms in WW I. I do not know about fish mortality.
