how to change carriage bearing on a Woodmizer LT40 (upper vertical)

For the life of me I can't figure this out. Tried blocking saw to angle, pushed pulled and pry the carriage in every direction, called Woodmizer twice. Same advice on what I did above, but can't figure it out. Even screwed out stops underneath. It is so close to being away from frame enough to drop out, but just can't get that last 1/16th of an inch. Picture attached. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know if the set up is the same or not but when I did my 35 I removed the rubber bumper and ran the head all the way to the end to clear the round rod and was able to change the follower that way.

Good idea! The tech at Woodmizer said "just lift it with a pry bar and it will drop out", a 16th or so still to clear that piece of steel.
