Came across a large number of walk in cooler panels cheap. I have a used Ebac unit so thinking a DH kiln. Thoughts? Good -bad the ugly?  Thanks Tom

any more info, pics.  how thick and what are they made from and insulated with.  sounds good but hate to head you in the wrong direction.

We have a walk in on the farm and I would not want to use it for the kiln. They are not built for that environment. Thin metal walls that sure do rust, the insulation is most likely not rated for that heat. I think it would fall apart on you in pretty quick order.

Now for dry storage they are great. Toss a decent sized A/C into one with a "cool bot" and you can have a functional walk in for cheap money.

It would not be uncommon to have insulation that would have a high temperature limit of 120 F.  As a kiln can get hotter, you will have a problem.  See if you can get the specs for the insulation.

Thanks guys. Galvinized tin in and out with wood frame and locking mech. 4" thick foam, did not think about the heat rating. Back to the drawing board?

Also the galvanized metal interior will very quickly rust out due to the tannic acid in the wood.

Well I'm building a solar kiln out of cooler panels the ones I have are aluminum faced not steel so check that out. As far as heat I haven't done any test on it just figured it would work. R rating is usually around 5 per inch or so. The cam locks are nice at pulling panels tight
Mine is about half built one day I'll start a thread on it....
