Has anyone ever put a G or newer grapple on a E series? I realize I would need the top boom and rotor motor where that's different but are there any other problems with converting one that I'm not thinking of?

I was just going to post the same question about changing the esco off my 460
.. 😆  I've seen it done on a couple skidders so I know it's possible.

I put a JD 640 grapple on a TF C5D, replacing  a 72 inch Esco. A little heavier, but works great for tops & chip wood skids.

Yeah I don't blame you that esco I had on my 240 was hard to keep wood in. I did some measuring today on my E and a g3 and I think it would work. Everything measured the same only thing I would have to add is a case drain the g3 rotor motor has one and my rotor motor doesn't. So now to find the parts cheap is another matter...

Mine isnt to bad, make my hitches taller not wider, bigger the pile the better. My snubbed is worn, I've been hunting for the parts myself.

Yeah I'm sure the big esco on the 460 is a lot better than the one I had. Subbers are about gone on mine I tightened them up but only lasted about 3 days before it was loose again

On our Sorting grapples like the Esco or Young grapples we've added plates to help them close tighter. The snubber there's a company making parts for them called 6K products formerly know as Danzco.
