Woodmizer LT28 height adjustment

I have a ~2006 Woodmizer LT28 that I've had for the last 10 years. Following a full tune-up last year including replacing the gas lifting cylinders inside the mast, I noticed that my last board is always a little thick by about 3/16". I finally checked the blade height today and found it to be 1 3/16" from the bunk, so that made sense. I adjusted the head down using the adjuster at the end of the chain so it was just over an inch off the bed since I think I remember it comes down a little when running.

The problem is that with the blade height good at 1", it's nearly a 1/4" low when I'm up around 12-13".

What did I miss? The only way I can imagine this happening is if the chain stretched over time? This has been primarily just used for projects around the house, not that many hours on it. Maybe 20k board feet?

Could be the gas cylinder is holding the head up near the bottom where it would be compressed more. At 12 inched up it wouldn't be compressed as much leaving the head where it should be. Maybe you got the wrong gas cylinder or one that is charged too much. Steve

Good thought and I was hoping that was it so I checked it again this morning. The gas cylinder isn't holding it up. I adjusted it a little using the slots in the hand crank notched wheel. I was about to determine that I'm off 1/16" per foot. Meaning I'm at 1 1/8", 12 1/16", and 24" when I'm using the marks on the wheel. The manual height adjuster on this is supposed to give 4" of elevation for every rotation of the crank, but it seems to be falling short.

i'm having quite literally the exact same issue with my lt28. mine has less than 10 blades used, replaced the cylinders and it cut fine for a few blades and now my bottom board is 3/16 thicker. I'm looking for why currently.
