Kubota L4850 or L5450

Anyone own either of these two tractors?
I'm looking for feedback on the good,bad and ugly.

The only thing I didn't like was waiting 2 weeks for parts.  ???  I have a NH and I can gets parts 3 days at my door.  ;D  But things maybe be different in VT. I went to 2 dealers and both had me waiting 2 weeks.  :(    >:(

I don't know those specifically, but I've had a an L3250 that has served well.  I should really have something out of the M series, but the smaller L's have their advantages also and mine's done a lot of work.  Between the two, I'd choose more hp and more lifting capacity because more is never enough.  Either way you'll have a good tractor.  Main thing is to have a good dealer.

I've got good dealer support.
I own an L3750 with hydraulic shuttle shift.The L4850 and L5450 have larger hydraulic pumps and more 3 pt. hitch lifting capacity.
The hyd. SS is great for loader work and brush hogging , clutch less f/r.

I don't know particulars about them, but have seen references that suggest the 5 cylinder engines can have problems.  Other than that, I would think both of those would be very comparable to your 3750, just bigger.

It is always wise to ebay out the most common replacement parts when model shopping.  Starters, overhaul kits, steering boxes, axle shafts, valves and injection pumps and computers  if equipped etc. 

 Youll get to see which machine the aftermarket more thoroughly supports.   The more aftermarket competition, the less the dealer is able to murder you on OEM replacement cost.

There is an M4950DT for sale on Albany craigslist. Doesn't look like it has HSS but bigger frame than the L's and more lifting capacity front and rear.

I have an L2800. my only complaint is PTO disengages every time you push in the clutch. I do have shuttle shift but not the hydraulic clutchless type.

Highly recommend whatever you get has a live PTO that doesn't always disengage when clutch is pressed.

Usually the l series has two-stage clutches which let you keep the pto running unless you go all the way down to where the second stage disengages the pto. Better to have the hst trans, but running a loader with a clutch and a shuttle shift and hi/lo range gives me a good workout.  :D

unless mine is out of adjust I do not have a 2 stage clutch. 

I do not understand what the big deal is with clutch and loader work. I prefer manual way over power robbing hydraulic drive anyday.

The Kubota GST glide shift trans is shuttle shift with no need to ever push the clutch pedal, but it is completely gear driven.  I really like it.  It has two clutches as I understand it.  One traditional clutch pedal and another clutch related to the shuttle shifter.  I can shift speeds while driving and not push the clutch.  There is a pause as it goes from 4th to 5th as it is also shifting from high to low.
