Yup..

We sure are going into winter...

Some days, when it gets down near 20C, and it's just too cold, I'm sure we will all be sitting around the 'puter...    :o

Asy cant be down under far enough yet - last night it got down to about 8 degrees celsius here.  Time for the gas heater to go on ::).  Mind you today is another beautiful day must be at least between 18 - 20 degrees if not higher  :)
Hobbies and Interests

Interests revolve around my partners love of sawmills! - Hence being his NUMBER ONE OFFLOADER - Myself - I like the smell of sawdust. If I had my choice I would have BIG MACHINERY - who wouldn't want their own combine harvester and an 18 wheeler (Scania)

We're still running the ceiling fans at night, probably near 30 C at the moment.

I spend less time in front of the computers during winter.  In our summers I get out of the heat from 11am to 2pm.

Thing about about our winters is that we're not real prepared for the cold, we don't have central heating etc, when it gets real cold, (like 12 C) its easier to go to bed - its real warm and cosy there  ;D ;D

I've got to do a lot of sawing. Timber stand improvement, pruning, milling of logs and then custom sawing. I might be tooooo tired to push the puter on button fer a few weeks, les'in I get rained out, But then again, I don't do well in mid 90's F or above and muggy, so those might bring me inside where it is air conditioned. However we usually get very few of those days.

Well, we're having a thunderstorm today.  The last few summers have been pretty wet here.   Last year during May and June it rained ,at least once during the day, for 55 days.  The ground just gets rotten.  Super Saturated! ;D

Rocky_Ranger

Ah the memories - I spent 4 years at Monticello and don't miss that part of the country one bit (except spring, winter, and fall).
RETIRED!

Rockn H

Rocky-Ranger, I bet they trucked yall out to Seven Devils swamp too. ;D ;D
I sure wish I could remember more of what they tried to teach me without having to keep dragging out all these books. :D

Rocky_Ranger

You bet!  Been to Seven Devils many times, drinkin' and frog giggin' and even some learnin'.

I will log on after dark or before I go to work. Im still having trouble sleeping past 4 am!
I have to lose about 14 pounds of "winter insulation" so I will be working outside as long as the weather is nice.

Early spring here going to go in over the island on snowmobile this morning to haul a few more loads of lumber out. Cutting stuff for a new fence around the cementary. Our ice bridge to the mainland is gone and we have had 2 supply ships in for the season so far. Soon going to launch my boat as it will be the only way to get to my mill. Usually saw only one day a week during the summer, busy time at the general store.

The crab season is due to open here on the 25th. The local processing plant is set to go so things will be flat out here for a few months. Less time on the puter for sure other than work stuff. Its -2 Cel here this morning but a nice sunny day. Well time to haul some lumber
