How do you guys get your music?  I'm out in the shop almost all the time and use free Pandora and sometimes Live X Live.  Pick the songs I like but wondering if a paid subscription would work better.

I'm using iTunes but am looking for alternatives.

We have a Spotify family plan, which allows up to 5 users, no ads, and you can save play lists for offline playing.

Just seems to work and isn't silly $$, especially when it's spread over 4 users. Once you play a few albums it starts making playlists for you of related artists, so you check out some new stuff.

Youtube to mp3 convertor.  If you google it tons of sites will come up and you just paste the youtube link into the bar.  but theyre generally fulla adware and spyware so i only do it on an old tablet thats not important to me. Just for music library anymore.

Downside is you dont get anything random like the radio.  If i want that ill just play youtube and type in a genre.. "70s rock compilation" or "bluegrass gospel" then pick one.

I just use the Spotify App and make my own playlists by clicking the like icon on songs I look up. There are also playlists that I hit the like button on so they are saved in your library. I don't subscribe to their service, I just use the freebies. You get a couple short adds every 5 or 6 songs, no biggy. You can hit the random icon and repeat icon. If you've got 100's of songs or more, you'll never play them all in 24 hrs. :D But if you don't hit repeat, it selects songs like you've been listening to, so that is more randomness built in. Have no desire to download anything. When I'm out in the woods, or in the yard or walking I don't want anything else but nature in my ears. ;D In the shop I would just listen to the local radio, they play all the stuff I listen to, plus I get the weather and 5 minutes of news form the Associated Press every hr (which I trust more than most for accuracy). ;D I do most of my listening in the man cave through the web app. Even their podcasts are better on the web app, some of them have video and they never ported video over to all devices they wrote the app for. You take PS4, it plays Youtube, but not Spotify video. ::) Lots of apps are way better on web app versions.

Most people don't know that a boy named Sue was written by Kris Kristofferson.

Kristofferson wrote "Sunday Mornin' Comin Down", "Why Me Lord", "Me and Bobby McGee", and many other songs, and probably sung "A Boy Named Sue" with Johnny back in the "Highwaymen" days. It was actually written by Shel Silverstein and first performed by Johnny on the live at San Quentin album in 1969.
