Invasive Beech Leaf Disease Found in Michigan

The Michigan departments of Natural Resources and Agriculture and Rural Development recently confirmed the presence of invasive beech leaf disease in a small, private woodlot in southern St. Clair County, located in southeast Michigan.

Has the beech leaf mining weevil reached New Brunswick yet? It's infested most of Central/Eastern Nova Scotia. The weevil mines the leaf as it begins to flush out. The tree begins to shed the heavily damaged leaves come mid-July, many of them are leafless now.
