New to me log arch

Picked this up from a friend. His father made i probably 40 years ago. We used back in the 80's hauling log to a Foley-Belsaw circular mill. Greased bearings and new tires. Does the job keeping the log out of the dirt.

That looks like a unique design. I've never seen one with structure on top like that to keep the log level. I'm sure it works good. I could see it being an issue if the ground isn't level because the log can't lift up if one end hits the ground.
Change is hard....
Especially when a jar full of it falls off the top shelf and hits your head!

Local wind direction is determined by how I park my mill.

The A frame is used to lift the log into the arch. It is then secured with chains.
