I didn't want to post this question on the other rock guard thread, so I'll start another. I broke the inside and outside rock guards off my CASE 550H dozer the other day. I'm not able to repair it unless you break the track and take a sprocket off, not really what i'm wanting to do right now. How risky is it to run a dozer in the woods, clearing and making roads, without the rock guards? Just off at one sprocket, the undercarriage is 60-70%. I don't want to take the time to fix it right now, but also don't want to throw a track in a deep holler... thoughts and opinions appreciated.

I currently run my harvester without the outside ones. But that's different. If I feel something weird I lift that side and spin it so I know it's on. Your case you're kinda screwed if it starts to walk.

I wouldn't worry about it, it won't walk a track off until you are in the worst spot on the site😁
