Scarf in a bent?

Greetings,

Question of the day for a new timber framer.  I plan on building a 30x40 2 story  with a queen post bent.  My mill will only saw 21'.  Can I place a scarf in the bent on the main girt?  The girt is 10"x16".  Can the scarf be placed over a post with a mortice that runs though to secure it for tension?
