I had my hydraulic pump rebuilt in a John Deere 440C line skidder using John Deere parts a few years ago.  Everything was working well, no leaks etc.  I never used it this winter and when I went to start it recently, a rattling noise was coming from near the hydraulic pump when idling.  If I raise and lower the blade, turn side to side the noise subsides.  Oil level is at optimum level.   Anyone else experience this.

You might check all of the components of the pump drive.  When the clamps are not tight or the rubber bushings are worn you can hear a rattling sound.
440B skidder, JD350 dozer, Husqvarnas from 335 to 394. All spruced up
